We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it on the receipt itself rather than quietly deleting the page.

Request a correction

What we will correct

A factual error — a wrong date, a wrong platform, a mischaracterisation of what a post said.
A misidentification. If we attributed a post to the wrong person or account, we remove the identification and publish a correction.
Manipulated or fabricated evidence. If the underlying evidence turns out to be false, the receipt comes down.
Missing context that materially changes how the post reads.

What we will not do

Remove an accurate receipt because the subject regrets the post or finds it embarrassing.
Remove a receipt because the post was deleted after we captured it.
Treat criticism of our commentary as a factual correction.

If you are the subject

You can submit a response through this form. We publish responses on the receipt and label them as unverified statements unless we can confirm them. A response does not guarantee removal; a verified factual correction does require a correction.

How corrections appear

A material correction is shown at the top of the receipt in red, and again in the update timeline with the date. We do not rewrite history silently, and a removed receipt keeps its number and its URL.
