Terms
These terms cover using this website and sending us material.
Using the site
You may read, link to and share anything published here. Receipt URLs are permanent and are meant to be shared.
You may not use this site to harass anyone. That includes using published receipts to organise or encourage contact with, pressure on, or retaliation against a subject or their employer, family or associates. We publish so that people can read and understand what was posted publicly. That is the whole purpose.
Submitting material
When you submit a receipt you confirm that the content was publicly accessible when you found it, and that you have not included private messages, private group content, or unrelated personal information about anyone.
You keep whatever rights you already have in what you send. By submitting, you give us permission to store it, verify it, and publish an edited derivative of it as part of a receipt if we choose to. We are not obliged to publish anything, and most submissions do not become receipts.
Do not send us material you obtained by breaking into an account, breaching a confidence, or violating a court order.
Our editorial content
Receipts, context and commentary published here are our editorial work. Quotation of a subject's public post is reproduced as evidence of what was publicly said.
Commentary is opinion, and is labelled as such on every receipt. Statements of fact are what we have verified — if we get one wrong, the corrections process is the route to fixing it, and we use it.
Corrections and removal
Requests for correction, response or removal go through the corrections form. We correct verified factual errors and remove receipts whose evidence does not hold up. We do not remove accurate receipts about public posts on request alone.
No warranty
The site is provided as-is. We do our best to keep the archive accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page.
A note on this document
This is an initial operational terms document written by the publication, not a lawyer. It should receive legal review before a high-profile public launch.
